Internet Speed Test

This tool helps you measure your current internet connection speed directly from your browser. It provides three key metrics to give you a comprehensive understanding of your connection's performance: download speed, upload speed, and latency (ping).

Unlike many other online speed tests, this tool is designed with your privacy in mind. All measurements are initiated and calculated on the client-side, and your IP address and test results are not logged or stored.

Understanding Internet Speeds

• Download Speed: How fast information travels from the internet to your device. This affects streaming movies (Netflix, YouTube), downloading large files, and browsing image-heavy websites. A good download speed is typically above 25 Mbps for 4K streaming.
• Upload Speed: How fast information travels from your device to the internet. This is crucial for video conferencing (Zoom, Skype), online gaming, and backing up files to the cloud.
• Ping (Latency): The reaction time of your connection, measured in milliseconds (ms). A lower ping means a more responsive connection, which is essential for real-time applications like online gaming and voice calls. ideally, ping should be below 50ms.
• Jitter: The variation in ping over time. High jitter can cause buffering during streaming or "lag" in games, even if your average speed is good.
